This is probably the most spectacular rug that Barbara Barran has ever designed! The European Cultural Centre invited her to show a rug in Venice during the Biennale at the Palazzo Michiel on the Grand Canal, two doors down from the Ca’ d’Oro.

Barbara wanted to pay homage to Italian design so she created a mosaic of Deruta pottery in 300 knot per square inch pure silk with New Zealand wool grout lines.

It took the GoodWeave artisans in Nepal 5 months to hand-knot this rug, and it was well worth the wait! The rug is an amazing 2 mm thick, and the size is 9’ x 12’.
