Maranta leuconeura 'Green' is a beautiful and understated cultivar of the classic Prayer Plant, admired for its vivid chartreuse-green leaves, accented by dark herringbone-patterned veins and a subtle sheen. The elliptical foliage folds upward at night—a phenomenon known as nyctinasty—giving this plant its common name and adding a sense of movement and rhythm to your space.
Native to the tropical forest floors of Brazil, this low-growing species thrives in low to medium indirect light, high humidity, and consistently moist, well-draining soil. Its trailing or mounding habit makes it ideal for hanging baskets, shallow pots, or grouped with other humidity-loving houseplants.
