Speedmaster Professional, 42mm, 2009
It's always more interesting writing about a watch that is genuinely rare and one we scarcely see. This 42mm Speedmaster 'Alaska Project 2008' is limited to only 1970 numbered pieces.
Produced for only one year as a re-edition of the original Alaska Speedy; a watch designed for a secret NASA space project in 1970. Referencing the early prototype, this edition features a brilliant arctic white stepped dial, Omegas iconic rocket hands and bright red chrono seconds. Setting it apart from other collectable Speedys is the upgraded red anodised aluminium outer case, designed to protect the watch against truly extreme temperatures (-148°c to +260°c), and its engraved commemorative caseback. Powered by the manual winding Calibre 1861, waterproof to 50m.
A rare collectors set, accompanied with everything from new including its special Omega box, 2 additional NASA Velcro straps & tools, swing tag, aluminium outer case, Speedmaster literature and Omega warranty, pictogram & limited series cards.
